A man left his service animal leashed out front of a Circle K convenience store while he went inside to get food, KTVK reported. The animal is trained to help the man, who is a military veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. When he returned the dog was gone.
Surveillance video shows a homeless man taking the dog from the store, KTVK reported. Glendale police found Kevin Kent, 52, asleep in a nearby field with the dog, KTVK reported.
Kent was arrested and charged with control to deprive a service animal and kill or harm a service animal, according to court records.
