The switching off of the Dash service may not come as a surprise for some customers since the online retailer stopped selling new buttons earlier this year, according to CNN.
The system launched in 2015.
But all is not lost. The Dash button will still be available virtually on the Amazon app, website, Echo show or a smart fridge, CNN reported.
But smart home devices and digital services like Alexa made the one-touch shopping obsolete since users can just tell Alexa to order items they're out of by speaking to the device, CNET reported.
Amazon also offers an option called "Dash Replenishment Service" that will automatically submit an order when items like printer ink are running low. They also have a "Subscribe & Save" option, CNET reported.
