Which president was the richest?

What about the poorest?

With Donald Trump in the presidential race, many comments have been made in reference to his wealth.

Now, InsideGov has ranked U.S. presidents by net worth.

The list includes every president, including George Washington.

The numbers have been adjusted for inflation.

The poorest?

That would be James Buchanan.

The site says six of the poorest presidents served during and around the Civil War years. In contrast, the founding fathers earned significantly more.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison are all in the top six.

But the richest president in American history?

That would be John F. Kennedy with an estimated worth of $1 billion.

As for more recent history, Barack Obama is No. 23 on the list with a net worth of $7 million.

George W. Bush ranks No. 17 with $20 million. His dad, George H.W. Bush, is worth $23 million.

Surprisingly, after many comments about a negative financial situation post term, Bill Clinton ranks No. 10 with a net worth of $55 million.
