Motorcyclist injured in Sunday Clark County crash taken to hospital via CareFlight

A Springfield motorcyclist was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight after sustaining injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Clark County Sunday evening.

Chase R. Davis, 33, was driving a 2018 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Old Columbus Road near Mahar Road and attempted to pass traffic in a no passing zone, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Dustin Wagner, 26, of Springfield, was also driving east on Old Columbus Road in a 2015 Chrysler 200 when he tried to pass traffic in a no passing zone and hit the motorcycle.

The motorcycle went off the left side of the road, hit two mailboxes and overturned, according to troopers.

Details on Davis’ condition and the extent of his injuries were not available. Wagner was not injured.

Lt. Aller stressed the importance of wearing protective equipment while on a motorcycle to help reduce the risk of injuries.

“Obeying all of the traffic laws, wearing a helmet and protective gear helps save lives,” Lt. Aller said. “Share the road responsibly and help us prevent tragedies during the summer riding season.”
