Wilky Gomez-Savinon, 32, of Lynn was charged with trafficking class A heroin, trafficking class A fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute class B Oxycodone and possession of counterfeit notes.
Beverly police said a three-week drug investigation led to the search of Design and Cut Barber Shop.
Detectives seized approximately two ounces of fentanyl, approximately 25 grams of suspected heroin, Oxycodone pills and a significant amount of counterfeit cash.
Gomez-Savinon was held on $100,000 cash bail.
Neighbors said they never thought anything of it, saying it didn't look like a front for drugs.
"Not that I noticed they were always working," Sophia Lague said. "This is a very good area. Never had issues. I lived here for a year and just moved down the street but never had issues.”
Barbershop customers were surprised to learn of the drug bust, saying the barbers were nice and never saw any signs of it being a drug front.
“Yeah, I guess I used to get my hair cut there," said Nick, a former customer. “No, I didn’t see people coming and going a lot. I sit out here a decent amount and they never seemed that suspicious.”
