Longhorn Steakhouse employee accused of cutting coworker with knife

David Breschard Jones, 28, was arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated battery, the newspaper reported.

According to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report, Jones was working in the restaurant's food prep area around 8:45 a.m. when he said his coworker aggressively invaded his workspace, WCJB reported.

Jones then allegedly grabbed a knife and swung it at the man, cutting his neck and forearm, the Sun reported.

Jones claimed he was acting in self-defense because his coworker was blocking his exit path, the newspaper reported.

Jones was booked into the Alachua County jail, where he remained Friday morning in lieu of $10,000 bond.
