AG Yost to trim $4.6M from his budget to offset state shortfall

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost on Thursday announced his plans to trim more than $4.6 million from his office’s budget to help offset the state’s revenue shortfall due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The financial strain of COVID-19 demands a hard look at government spending,” Yost stated in a release. “My office will continue to do its part to relieve the pressure weighing on the state’s budget.”

Yost’s reductions include the remaining dollars from an unused government grant program.

The reductions amount to more than 5 percent of the funding the AG’s office receives through the state’s general revenue fund.

Fiscal year 2020 comes to an end on June 30.
