Winter storm: Area hospitals treat patients for weather-related injuries

Snow, sleet and freezing rain from a winter storm last weekend resulted in some people taking a trip to area emergency rooms.

Springfield Regional Medical Center treated 12 patients from weather-related injuries. None were from car accidents.

Upper Valley Medical Center saw 10 patients total over the weekend due to the weather, with six patients being treated for falls.

Seven patients were treated at Atrium Medical Center, including four from slips or falls.

Collectively at four Premier Heath hospitals, including Miami Valley Hospital, 19 patients were treated for falls, and eight were treated for injuries from car accidents.

Three people were also treated for hypothermia, ATV accident, or sledding accident, according to a health network spokeswoman.

We have also reached out to the Kettering Health Network for details.

A representative from Kettering Health said it would take about a week before that information was released.
