UPDATE: New Carlisle council fails to select new council member


New Carlisle council members were unable to pick a new council member Thursday night after a vote ended in a tie.

Three candidates had applied for the vacant seat made available after former council member Aaron Leighty resigned after moving out of the city. Becky McKenzie and Amy Hopkins each received three votes from council members. Kathy Wright did not receive a vote.

A majority vote by the council is needed to make a selection.
