No, It’s not lottery winnings, but unclaimed tax refunds.
It is estimated that more than 1 million Americans entitled to money back from the IRS haven’t filed a tax return for 2015. It’s led to an estimated $1.4 billion in unclaimed refunds, according to the tax agency.
Here in Ohio, it’s estimated that nearly 44,000 people didn’t file a tax return in 2015, putting the total unclaimed cash for the Buckeye State at approximately $47 million, according to Forbes.com.
