“We hope to get this one opened and closed pretty quickly,” Clark County Engineer Johnathon Burr said.
The construction will take place in Bethel Twp. between Bischoff and Free roads. Drivers can use North Hampton Road or New Carlisle Pike as an alternative route.
The cost of the project is between $130,000 and $140,000, Burr said, and will be paid for by the local vehicle and gas tax-fund.
Burr said that the project has been implemented to replace low capacity and decaying bridges.
“We’re going back to galvanized steel beams to keep the rust to a minimum,” he said.
The bridge project isn’t the only one happening in the county. Maintenance on the Plattsburg Road’s overpass bridge, being handled by the Ohio Department of Transportation is ongoing. Also, a section of Titus Road was also closed down for most of the month of May.
The Clark County Engineering Office plans to repair other bridges on Rebert Pike, Hampton Road, and Springfield Xenia Road this summer.
