Threat for storms increases midweek

Skies will briefly clear before more clouds arrive, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said. Overnight temperatures will drop into the upper 60s with muggy conditions.

DETAILED FORECAST

Wednesday: Partly cloudy skies will start the day but clouds will thicken with the threat for passing showers and storms developing by late afternoon into the evening. Temperatures will top out in the lower 80s.

Thursday: Numerous showers and storms are likely through the day. Some locally heavy rain will be possible along with one or two stronger storms also are possible. Temperatures will hold to around 80 degrees for the high.

Friday: Expect a mix of sun and clouds with a chance for passing showers and storms. Highs will be in the lower 80s.

Saturday: The day will start partly cloudy but some pop-up storms will be possible during the afternoon and early evening. Highs will be in the lower 80s.

Sunday: Lots of sunshine will end the weekend with warm temperatures rebounding into the middle 80s.
