Springfield Wildcats: 3 things to know

The Springfield High School football team has had a record-breaking year.

But, it is not the end.

The Wildcats will play in the final four against Cincinnati Elder, 7 p.m. tonight, at Alexander Stadium, 1 Indian Trail in Piqua.

The public is invited to a send-off at 3:30 p.m. today in the Springfield High School parking lot, 701 E. Home Road.

Here are three things you should know about the Wildcats:

1. It has been 17 years since a Springfield City School District football team last played in the regional final. The Wildcats beat Dublin Coffman to win their first regional championship.

2. This is the first time Springfield has played in the final four.

3. Two more victories would give Clark County its first state football championship.
