This photo from around 1937 shows a crowded view of South Limestone not long before the building that housed Dow Drugs on the northwest corner of Limestone and High was torn down to make way for Woolworth’s, which opened in 1940.
This view of the block includes the recently opened Majestic Theater, Merit Shoe Shop and two ladies stores: Samilson’s and the Artwil Dress Shop.
