Springfield nonprofit releases list of rules for Kroger shuttle

The Springfield nonprofit running the free shuttle service to Kroger is asking passengers to limit items to what they can carry in one trip.

The limit on items is just one of many rules posted by The Abilities Connection for their free Kroger shuttle service on their Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon.

“The Abilities Connection, a nonprofit organization located in Springfield, has partnered with the City of Springfield to act as a community connector in providing access to food and groceries following the closure of the South Limestone Kroger store,” the post said.

Shuttles will begin running on Saturday and will pick residents up in what was once Kroger’s parking lot at 1822 S. Limestone St. Residents will then be driven to the Kroger located at 2728 E. Main St.

Hours for the shuttle are: Wednesdays from 4:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. A full schedule of the service can be found on TAC's website.

Funding for the shuttles will come directly from Kroger — as part of a deal the city reached with the grocery chain on Feb. 18.
