Springfield men recognized by national magazine

Two Springfield men were honored by Forbes and named to the 30 under 30 list for education in the United States and Canada.

Karlos Marshall and Moses Mbeseha, the founders of The Conscious Connect, Inc. were added to the list for the commitment to literacy in Springfield and the surrounding area.

“We are honored to receive such a recognition, but this award is one that is representative of larger community that helped cultivate a vision,” Marshall said.

The organization’s mission is to eliminate book deserts across the Dayton-Springfield area, and has distributed more than 30,000 books in various way since January 2016.

Also named to a 30 under 30 list was Jena Powell, from Darke County, who was just elected to the Ohio House this November. Powell was recognized in the policy and law category.
