A mixed precipitation of snow, freezing rain and rain will continue to fall Thursday.

Snow accumulation looks like around an inch or less and any afternoon rain would melt it.

Where rain mixes in the chance for an icy glaze is possible as the column warms back up through the morning. Roads will likely get slick late tonight and tomorrow before sunrise. The column of air will warm through the morning transitioning everyone back to rain showers with some lingering moisture possibly ending as light snow.

“Roads will be the biggest impact. Drivers should use caution tonight and tomorrow morning,” said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.

Road temperatures could drop enough causing surfaces, especially bridges and overpasses, to see slick spots develop from snow or freezing rain.

"If you are out early and it looks wet, it might be icy. If we are lucky enough for the road temps to stay above freezing, elevated surfaces like decks, bridges or tree branches could see a light glaze of ice," said Zontini.
Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through noon Thursday; the advisory for Randolph County is until 7 p.m. Thursday.
