Friday is the last day to get lunch at a restaurant in downtown Springfield’s Marriott Hotel.
Me’la Urban Bistro will officially discontinue lunch hours Saturday due to a decrease in attendance, according to Mickey Edwards, food and beverage manager at the restaurant.
“We just were not maintaining enough traffic during the lunch period,” Edwards said. “We are focusing our efforts on our other two meal periods.”
The restaurant will no longer serve from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday to Friday. Me’la’s other service hours will stay the same, Edwards said.
Me’la’s breakfast hours are 6 to 11 a.m. on Monday through Friday, 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.
It is open for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Dinner is not offered on Sunday.
The bar is open from 2 to 11 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, from 2 to midnight on Friday and Saturday, and from 4 to 11 p.m. on Sunday.
Edwards said that he believes lunch hours could return in the future. “If the need is there or if it would be profitable to do so, I am sure we would take that to our owners and try to get that reversed.”
