Ponitz Center student hit by vehicle near school, suffers minor injuries

A student at the Ponitz Career Technology Center was taken to a hospital Tuesday afternoon after being bumped by a vehicle near the school on West Washington Street in Dayton.

The student was believed to have been jaywalking when the incident occurred about 4:15 p.m.

A passing Dayton fire truck saw the accident and called for a medic, which was dispatched on a report of a pedestrian strike in the area of West Washington Street and South Edwin C. Moses Boulevard.

The student’s injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
