The stars of "The King and I," on stage at the Schuster Center pose with a poster in the performing arts center lobby Wednesday. At left is Pedro Ka'Awaloa who plays the King of Siam, Angela Baumgardner plays Anna Leonowens and at right is Tsubasa Ogawa, dance captain for the production. The show runs through Sunday. Rodgers and Hammersteinâs The King and I won a Tony Award in 2015 for Best Costume Design of a Musical. The actors in the production of the musical currently on stage at the Schuster Performing Arts Center are wearing the same costumes worn by the 2015 cast. Many of the colorful fabrics came from India, beading has been hand-stitched and the iconic gown worn by the character, Anna, as she waltzes with the King in âShall We Dance,â weighs 40-pounds.
