St. Paris Public Library opens new location in Champaign County

The St. Paris Public Library has recently opened an outreach location in Christiansburg.

Its opening day comes after nearly two years of efforts to get a Christiansburg location, according to Director of St. Paris Public Libraries Nicole Rush.

“It felt like Christiansburg was a part of the tax base that wasn’t getting the service that it needed,” said Rush.

The outreach location’s address is 203 North Main St.

The new location will have most of the same resources available at the St. Paris library. That includes books for children and adults, computers, printers, copiers, children’s programming, and eventually faxing capabilities and adult programming, according to Rush.

“We are going to make it a 100 percent full-service library for the people of Christiansburg,” she said.

The outreach location’s hours are limited for the time being, due to being on a trial-basis lease. The purpose of having limited business hours is to determine how often patrons frequent the Christiansburg location, according to Rush.

Its current hours are as follows: 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday; 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday; 12 to 4 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
