>>Just in: Duke Energy Ohio is lowering bills in Southwest Ohio
For reference, the U.S. Energy and Information Administration reported that in 2018, the average annual electricity consumption for a U.S. residential utility customer was about 914 kilowatt-hours per month.
Also, any customers whose price per kilowatt-hour from a competing supplier is tied to the utility “price and compare” can benefit from the savings.
President of Ohio Operations for FirstEnergy Gary Grant said in the release, “Hot, humid summer weather, greater use of air conditioning, and more time at home during the coronavirus health emergency can increase electrical use, so any opportunity to save on electric bills is helpful for customers.”
The release said the lower prices are due to auctions held by FirstEnergy to buy energy supply for customers.
