MORE COTTREL: Enon landmark undergoing $300K renovation
Before coming to Enon, Siferd had been Administrator in McComb, Ohio for 13 years.
Located in Hancock County northwest of Findlay, McComb is a little smaller than Enon and surrounded by relatively flat farmland. The nearest river, the Blanchard, is known for flooding, but was miles away from McComb.
The McComb school district is similar in size to Greenon Local.
Coming from northwestern Ohio, Siferd is well acquainted with ice and snow removal and running a village in colder temperatures than we get here.
To this position Siferd brings many years of administrative experience, in addition to a background in technical education, factory work, and masonry. He already has Class 1 water certification and has managed the utilities of a village with a swimming pool.

Siferd said that his goals were the same as the village’s and he is looking forward to helping things run smoothly.
Although McComb’s water source was a reservoir and Enon’s water source is wells, water storage and delivery will be similar to his previous job.
Having recently purchased a home in Mad River Township, Siferd is looking forward to meeting community members and settling in.
A lifelong resident of McComb, he thinks he will enjoy living in a totally new area. His hobbies include boating, fishing, and singing.
As tenor in a southern gospel quartet called the Sojourners, he performed for 13 years and has half a dozen CDs with the group and solo.

During the time that the Enon Administrative position was empty, Administrative Assistant Kristy Thome had filled in.
“I stepped up and took up some of the work load,” she said and added that now she is looking forward to working on some projects for the village that had to be set aside.
The next Village of Enon Council meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. May 7 at the Enon Government Building, 363 East Main Street. Meetings are generally held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
