New pet-apparel store opens inside the Dayton Mall

A new pet-apparel store called "Boston Tee's Pets on the Go" has opened inside the Dayton Mall, selling fashion- and sports-team-themed apparel and accessories for dogs, cats and other pets.

The mall’s newest vendor operates out of a kiosk located on the west end of the mall, across from Chick-fil-A, and near the Fetch Puppies store.  The pet-apparel store is the brainchild of Dayton native Monica Mosley Byars.

“I’m an animal lover,” Byars said. “I have animals myself, and I love to dress them up.”

Boston Tee’s Pets on the Go sells licensed sports jerseys and other clothing items featuring logos and emblems of college and pro sports teams, as well as collars, leashes, beds and other pet accessories, Byars said. Items not in stock can be ordered and shipped directly to a customer’s home, the business owner said.

Byars may know a thing or two about sports, too. Her husband is Keith Byars, former standout running back for the Ohio State Buckeyes who had a 13-year NFL career, including seven with the Philadelphia Eagles.

A second Boston Tee’s Pets on the Go kiosk opened last fall inside Dayton International Airport.

The new Dayton Mall pet-apparel store’s hours are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to btpetsonthego.com.
