Five people were injured including two children in a two vehicle accident in Northeast Champaign County. The accident happened at the intersection of Chatfield and Blue Roads. The two children were transported via medical helicopter to Columbus. The crash was still under investigation.

Two children transported to hospital via CareFlight after Champaign County crash

Two children have been CareFlighted to a Columbus hospital after two car accident according a Champaign County Sheriff’s Deputy.  The crash occurred at the intersection of Chatfield Road and Blue Road. In addition to the two children injured three adults were sent to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana after sustaining injuries as well. There is currently no information on the conditions of the occupants and the cause of the crash is still under investigation. 



Multiple medics and at least one medical helicopter have been requested to a serious crash on Chatfield Road in Champaign County Wednesday afternoon. 

The crash was reported in the 3000 block of Chatfield Road, near the intersection of Blue Road around 2:30 p.m. 

Initial reports indicate up to six people were trapped as a result of the crash. At least one medical helicopter has been requested to the scene.
