Spragg was traveling west on West First Street in the right lane at a high rate of speed before the driver drove off the right side of the road and onto the sidewalk, according to a crash report filed in the incident.

The motorcycle then went airborne for about 40 feet, landed on the sidewalk and struck a fire hydrant in front of a residence in the 1000 block, the report said.
The crash only involved Spragg, but there was a witness that was riding next to him at the time of the incident, according to the report.

Spragg, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The street was shut down in both directions for nearly four hours while the crash was investigated, the report said.
Spragg is a veteran of the U.S. Army were he served from 2010-2013, according to his obituary posted on Private services will be held and he will be buried with full military honors in Ferncliff Cemetery.
A celebration of life date will be determined for late July for family and friends. Memorial donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the VA Medical Center in Dayton, the obituary says.
