Michael Cooper

Michael Cooper has worked at the News-Sun since 2002 and covers the city of Springfield for the Springfield News-Sun. He began as a sports desk clerk and was hired as a  full-time sports writer in 2005. In 2012, he began a new assignment as a city reporter. Cooper is a graduate of both Southeastern High School and Wilmington. He now lives in Springfield with wife, Carey. Cooper became interested in journalism from growing up and reading sports books. He fell in love with telling stories about interesting people.
