Isolated thundershower is a threat this evening

There may be an isolated shower or thundershower in the region until after sunset, but no severe weather is expected, Storm Center 7 meteorologist Rich Wirdzek said Thursday afternoon.

If showers occur, they’ll arrive in the late afternoon. The high temperature for today will be about 85 degrees.

For Friday, there is a slight risk of severe storms that could produce damaging high winds and hail. Showers and storms are expected in the evening. Wirdzek said a widespread severe weather threat is not anticipated. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s.

Showers are possible again Saturday and Sunday. A few will have the potential to become severe late in the day and in the evening on Saturday. Highs will be in the low 80s.

Monday is expected to be dry.

For this time of year, the region should be experiencing highs in the 70s, Storm Center 7 meteorologists said. Instead, highs have been above average in the mid- to upper-80s.
