It has been several years since it has been presented, but Parks District program coordinator Donna Lewis said it was a good time to reintroduce “A Christmas Carol Radio Show.”
“It’s fun to watch us do our thing like they did in the 1940s,” she said. “There’s just something smaller and more cozy about this presentation.”
Performers from the Springfield Civic Theatre will act with the story’s lead character, Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Ron Weber, who has done the show previously.

The narration and sound effects will be among the other highlights and can lead to interaction with the crowd. Then there’s the possibility of miscues.
“If we mess up, we laugh about it,” said Lewis. “It’s casual, fun and free.”
On top of it all will be the timeless story of “A Christmas Carol,” a holiday tradition for many people.
The hour-long show will also include complimentary refreshments before the performance. Those interested can still register the day of the performance.
