“The response has been really good so far,” she said. “People are really excited and anticipating using the new space.”
Before the construction, the rotunda wasn’t used for much besides an entrance. Now library patrons can utilize the space along with other workrooms that weren’t available before. No levy money was used for the project, Peck said.
State funds and private donations were used for the updates, she has said. The renovation also included new entrances, meeting and study rooms, a technology training room and business center.
“It’s been done for a while but this is the official unveiling,” Peck said.
Along with the new look, the library also launched a new website that’s more user friendly and aims to serve residents.
Sintina Boswell was at the main library last week and said she brings her two kids to the library regularly to check out books and movies.

“It looks really good,” she said. “It runs a little bit smoother with the new setup.”
She said she liked the changes that were made.
“I think it’s going to be great,” she said. “We’ve thought about bringing a possible boy scout troop here because it is easy to get to.”

The library held a ribbon cutting last week and celebrated the new rotunda by giving tours and hosting an event inside. Along with food and refreshments, a magic show was presented and a photo booth was made available.
