Wet, wintry weather expected heading into the weekend

Overnight: It will become cloudy overnight. "There is a chance for rain toward daybreak. The rain may be mixed with some wet snowflakes across the far northern Miami Valley," Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said. Temperatures will drop into the 30s by daybreak.

Friday: Expect a chance for rain showers for much of the Miami Valley with a light wintry mix possible further north. A light slushy accumulation is possible early across the far north with little or no accumulation expected elsewhere. There will be a lull in precipitation around midday through mid-afternoon with a chance for a few rain showers redeveloping early in the evening as gusty winds pick up.

Saturday: A few flurries are possible early in the morning with skies becoming mostly sunny. It will be quite blustery and unseasonably cold with highs holding in the middle 30s. Wind chills will be in the teens at times.

Sunday: There will be a mix of sun and clouds to wrap up the weekend with highs rebounding into the lower 40s.

Monday: Clouds will increase throughout the day with rain showers developing in the evening. High temperatures will be in the low 40s before falling in the evening. As colder air moves in, rain showers will change to snow showers at night.

Tuesday: Expect blustery and cold conditions with a threat for snow showers. High temperatures will hold in the lower to middle 30s. Wind chills will be in the teens.
