The $20.5 million renovation project, which will increase space for classrooms, labs and an updated gymnasium, will add about 36,000 square feet of space to the building.
Glismann said two new science classrooms will be available for use next week, and construction crews are focusing on completing renovations to the gym, as well as some older English and social studies classrooms.
If the project continues at this pace, Glismann said much of the work could be completed around the start of school next year.
“We’re probably potentially looking at the start of our school year,” he said.
A cafeteria and kitchen area were completed earlier this year.
New uniforms OK’d
During a school board meeting earlier this week, board members also approved a $7,500 donation for new wrestling warm-ups and uniforms from a mixed martial arts apparel company.
Glismann said board members initially questioned whether they should accept the donation because the company wanted the words “cage fighter” to be included on the uniform logo. Board members were reluctant to accept that, but were able to work out a compromise with the company. Instead, the logos on the clothing will only include the letters “CF.”
The logos will be included on the backs of the warm-up jackets and the right leg of some of the warm-up pants.
