Dense Fog Advisory for some in effect, widespread rain this weekend

Dense Fog Advisory for Auglaize, Logan, Mercer and Shelby counties is in effect through 9 a.m. Saturday, and patchy dense fog is expected through midnight for Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Warren and Wayne (Indiana) counties.

Tonight: Reduced visibility due to fog may create driving difficult in spots. Outside of foggy conditions, clouds will thicken tonight with temperatures holding steady early then slowly rising towards morning, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said. Rain also will arrive from the southwest and become widespread by daybreak with temperatures in the 40s.

Saturday: A rainy and breezy day expected with a few embedded thunderstorms. The threat for severe weather is not expected, but a few isolated stronger wind gusts are possible. Heavy rain at times also may lead to some minor flooding in places, especially in areas that are poorly drained or have leaves that may be blocking water flow. Steady rain will taper in the afternoon but a few showers may linger into the night. Rain totals between 1 and 1½ inch are possible. It will be mild with highs in the upper 50s.

Sunday: A few leftover showers early then clouds break. It will be a windy day with gusts as high as 30 mph. It also will be warmer once again with high temperatures in the upper 50s.

Monday: Cooler, but quiet with falling temperatures. Highs will be in the lower 40s under breezy but mostly cloudy skies through the afternoon.

Tuesday: Cloudy, blustery and cold conditions are in store with a the chance of a few passing flurries. Highs will be n the middle 30s.

Wednesday: Another cold and blustery day is expected with a few flurries possible and highs in the lower 30s.
