102 kids served at Champaign County’s Giving Tree event

Family and Children First Council’s second annual Giving Tree event was held Monday to help those who are in need and to get people in the community to adopt families for Christmas.

Families and children in need came to the event to get gifts, see Santa, and enjoy cookies and punch.

Each child was provided with a coat, hat, gloves, clothes, and non-perishable items.

This year, 102 kids were served, which is doubled from last year’s 50 kids.

The Giving Tree also received a donation check from Mercy Health, and Kroger donated half of the hams.
