“It took about six people eight hours to dye the eggs,” Young said.
Young said the hunt will take place on the full length of the farm’s driving range, which has been cleaned off and prepped for the event. Three different age groups — ages 4 and younger, ages 5-7 and ages 8-10.
The groups will be allowed on the range in 20-minute intervals, Young said, so coming early is encouraged. The event was started to promote the dairy farm, Young said.
About 1,500 people showed up for the egg hunt last year.
“We wanted to do something fun for families and kids,” Young said. “That’s kind of our main customer. We started a really small one 37 years ago and put them out there between the dairy store and the barn. And it got it started and its grown every year and we are up to over 10,000 eggs and I hope that’s enough.”

The event will take place Sunday no matter the weather, Young said.
“Rain or shine, what else am I going to do with 10,000 hard-boiled, dyed eggs?”
