Davidson topped GOP hopefuls in fundraising to replace Boehner

Congressional candidates for former Speaker John Boehner’s old seat raised and spent tons of money, according to federal spending reports filed last week.

The spending activity for the Republican candidates for the 8th Congressional District seat incorporate the Feb. 25 to March 31 fundraising period. The top fundraiser was Warren Davidson, who bested 14 other GOP hopefuls. He was followed Rep. Tim Derickson, R-Hanover Twp., Sen. Bill Beagle, R-Tipp City, and Middletown businessman Jim Spurlino.
