“Sarah impressed the committee with her passion for seeing children succeed and dedication to putting for the effort to make that possible for all students,” Silvus said. “She brings experience to this role as a building principal, instructional coach and reading specialist that will be an asset to our district.”

The Board of Education office has also relocated to Enon Primary to accommodate facilities construction at the Indian Valley site, the school said in a press release.

Easterling is the current principal at Rushmore Elementary in the Huber Heights City School District. She taught first-grade reading and intervention for 14 years in Huber Heights.

Easterling’s instructional leadership experience and high expectations for teaching and learning set her apart in the interview selection process, which included staff, parents and administrators, the district said.

She is a graduate of Wright State University and has a Master’s degree in elementary reading and literacy from Walden University and a Master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Scranton, according to a school news release.
