Home Depot hiring ahead of spring season

The Home Depot announced this morning it is hiring more than 800 associates in southwest Ohio and 80,000 nationwide in preparation for spring, its busiest selling season, according to a release.

The company plans to hire 225 associates in Dayton and approximately another 600 people at Cincinnati-area stores, which includes locations in Butler and Warren counties.

From sales and cashiers to operations and online order fulfillment, opportunities that are available include both permanent part-time and seasonal positions in the company’s stores and distribution facilities.

College students, retirees and veterans are encouraged to apply.

The Home Depot has 2,274 retail stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, 10 Canadian provinces and Mexico.

The company employs more than 370,000 associates.

In fiscal 2014, The Home Depot had sales of $83.2 billion and earnings of $6.3 billion.
