GPS devices are used to keep track of people released from jail who are out on bond and awaiting trial.

Ricardo Rodrigo Jr., 26, and Arthur Washington III, 22, were wearing the ankle monitors Feb. 17, linking them to an area where Widell Everett, 22, had been shot to death, the Sun-Sentinel reported, citing an arrest warrant.

Everett’s body and five bullet casings were found between the building where Rodrigo and Washington both live, the newspaper reported.

Rodrigo and Washington were arrested Tuesday and are being held without bond in the Broward County Jail, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

At 3:54 p.m. Feb. 17, Rodrigo’s GPS signaled he was at the exact location where Everett was killed, according to the arrest report. Washington was in the backyard behind the apartment building where the two suspects lived.

Two people in the neighborhood called 911, at 3:55 p.m. and 3:58 p.m., the Sun-Sentinel reported

When Rodrigo was arrested, he had open cases for felony theft and burglary offenses, and was on felony probation for drug and theft offenses and for resisting an officer with violence, the newspaper reported.

Washington had open cases for grand theft, cocaine possession and burglary charges when he was arrested and was on felony probation for drug-related offenses, the newspaper reported, citing the arrest warrant.
