A driver is facing an inducing panic charge after authorities said they followed a trail of blood to find him following a crash.
Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers responded to Interstate 70 in Clark County on the report of a single vehicle crash Tuesday morning. The driver was not in the car, so troopers followed a trail of blood and called in a K9 officer.
The K9 started barking, and the driver was found hiding on the other side of the road in the embankment, authorities said.
The driver, who is from Florida, told troopers he doesn’t have a driver’s license and got scared. He is facing charges of inducing panic, driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.
He was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center.
