Ali Abdullahi, a Somali interpreter who owned one of the cars, said he smelled something foul when he came out of the YMCA, the television station reported.

"I thought that this was just somebody who was trying to send a message, a signal, you know, to me," Abdullahi told WCCO.

It was not immediately clear who owned the other car, the television station reported.

St. Cloud police and YMCA officials are working together to review surveillance video, WCCO reported.
