A Florida teen was arrested Sunday after police said he got into an argument with his mother about turning the Internet back on and then grabbed a knife.
Collin Emery, 19, was arguing with his mother, Rebecca Emery, on Sunday in Port Orange, Florida when he felt she lied to him about regaining access to the Internet, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reports. When his mother denied him access to the Internet, police said Collin grabbed a knife from the kitchen, “stared at his mother to instill fear,” and then went upstairs.
Rebecca called the police once Collin went upstairs, and officers had to pick up the teen, who “laid flat on his bed.” Police said Rebecca “blocked police from leaving with her son by standing in the doorway holding her dog,” which snapped at officers, leading to her arrest.
Collin was charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor resisting arrest, while Rebecca was charged with resisting an officer without violence. Collin was released on his own recognizance. His mother posted $500 bail.
