Suspect in Springfield robbery now indicted on Dayton gun charges

An 18-year-old charged in a January robbery of a Verizon Wireless store in Springfield was indicted Friday in Montgomery County on gun-related charges.

Javon L. Reid of Dayton is scheduled to be arraigned April 5 for having weapons under disability; receiving stolen property (a firearm); and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle stemming from a Feb. 26 incident.

At the time, Reid was out on bond in the Jan. 18 Springfield robbery case.

In Clark County, he was indicted Feb. 5 for aggravated robbery and two counts of kidnapping, all felonies. A jury trial is scheduled for April 11, according to online court records.

Reid remains in the Clark County Jail.
