Springfield Police responded to the Styling Gallery on Mitchell Boulevard at around 2:30 p.m. Monday in response to a burglary call, according to a police report.
A passerby alerted authorities of a possible break-in, according to a police report.
“Upon arrival, I found the front door damaged,” the police report says. “Beside the door, I located a medium size rock. It appeared as if the rock had been used to break the door.”
The officers checked the business and found a safe open on the floor, the report says.
“The safe was not damaged however the contents inside were missing,” the report says.
About $300 was taken from the safe and about $91 was taken from the cash register, according to the report.
