PREVIOUS: Springfield man accused of smashing windshield of car with baby inside
Clark County law enforcement said they began their investigation when they were called to Bellevue Avenue for a domestic violence issue, according to an affidavit filed with the charges. Responding officers noticed another officer had a person pulled over and was wrestling with the suspect at the dead end at Bellevue Place.
“Mr. Tolliver continued to resist and wrestle (law enforcement)…,” the affidavit says. “(An officer) deployed his taser and (law enforcement) were able to successfully apprehend Mr. Tolliver.”
In the car was a 3-month-old child in a car seat, according to the affidavit.
“I spoke with (a victim) who stated she attempted to come to Mr. Tolliver’s residence at Bellevue place to pick up their child,” the affidavit says. “(She) stated she then got into an argument with Mr. Tolliver, loaded the baby into the 2007 Honda Accord and got into the driver’s seat. (The woman) stated Mr. Tolliver followed and proceeded to bust holes in the windshield of the vehicle with a hammer. Mr. Tolliver struck the windshield on the passenger side causing large amount of glass to fly into the front and back seat.”

The affidavit says then Tolliver attacked the woman.
“(The woman) stated Mr. Toliver then reached into the vehicle from the passenger side and struck her several times in the face causing swelling to her forehead. (The woman) advised Mr. Tolliver then drug her out of the vehicle. (The woman) stated Mr. Tolliver then got into the driver seat and sped off with the child still in the backseat of the vehicle.”
