Springfield man accused of striking, dumping trash on woman

A warrant has been issued for a Springfield man accused of striking and dumping trash on a woman after an alleged fight over cooking food.

Darnell L. Brandon Sr., 47, of 1884 Clay St., faces charges of domestic violence and assault, according to a police report. The man reportedly came to stay at the woman’s house in the 500 block of South York Street about 1:30 a.m. Monday.

The woman asked the man to make food for her, but police said he refused. The alleged argument escalated, the report says, and Brandon allegedly punched and slapped the woman. The suspect allegedly picked up a trash can and dumped trash on her, the report says.

Brandon left the home as the woman was calling police, the report says. A warrant for his arrest was filed with the Clark County Municipal Court on Monday morning.
