Package stolen from Springfield home’s doorstep

A package left on a doorstep of a Springfield home was taken before the owner could get home, according to a Springfield police report.

Springfield police took a report at their headquarters in downtown Springfield Wednesday when a woman showed up to report a package was taken from the doorstep of her home on the 600 block of Mason Street in Springfield.

Internet equipment was stolen, the report says.

“(The victim) stated she was having some internet equipment shipped to her residence from AT&T,” the report says. “(The victim) stated she arrived home after receiving a notification that it was supposed to have been delivered.”

But when she arrived home, the package was not there, the report says.

“(The victim) contacted AT&T to verify the delivery,” the report says.

No suspects were listed on the police report and the case is still under investigation.
