An Oakwood police officer and his twin brother are charged with disorderly conduct after a March bar fight in Tipp City.

The minor misdemeanor charges were filed by Tipp City police in Miami County Municipal Court. The men are scheduled for arraignment Sept. 18, according to court records.

A Miami County grand jury heard evidence but did not return any indictments. Documents filed Friday in county Common Pleas Court stated that jurors considered the allegations regarding injuries suffered by another man during the altercation but declined to issue an indictment.

The disclosure of the grand jury deliberations was approved by Judge Christopher Gee at the request of county Prosecutor Tony Kendell.

Police detective Sgt. Chris Graham said a man received a serious eye injury during the altercation and the man’s wife was hit in the face and knocked to the floor.

Graham said the situation inside the bar was chaotic and police cite people when they can determine the primary aggressors.
