“(Officers) observed that the male … had a stab wound to his upper right chest,” the report says.
The man told police that three men wearing masks had tried to rob him in an alley on Warder Street, but were unable to get anything from him. However, he had been stabbed, the report says.
“(The man) advised that he was alone at the time of the incident,” the report says.
Officers attempted to find a crime scene but were unable to do so, the report says.
Witnesses who found the man, according to the report, told officers they didn’t witness the attack but found the man afterward and called authorities.

The condition of the victim is still unknown. The report says the man had complained about having trouble breathing before he was flown to Miami Valley Hospital from Springfield.
