New Carlisle man sentenced to 20 years for raping 2 boys under 13

A New Carlisle man was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Friday for raping two boys under the age of 13.

Steven Anderson, 62, pleaded guilty to two counts of rape for incidents that occurred between 2016 and 2019.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into Anderson’s sexual misconduct following information that was disclosed during a forensic interview with the two boy victims, according to an affidavit filed with the charges.

During the interview, the boys told authorities that Anderson assaulted them many times. The boys told authorities that Anderson performed multiple sex acts on and with them and also showed them pornography.

“These incidents occurred multiple times inside the defendant’s residence in New Carlisle,” the affidavit said.

On July 19, a search warrant was executed at the defendant’s home where evidence of the assaults was located, according to the affidavit.

Following the search of his home Anderson agreed to speak with detectives and was transported to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, where he admitted that one of the victims performed a sex act on him, according to the affidavit.

“He admitted these acts occurred multiple times with [victim 1] over the course of two year and with [victim 2] over a period of six months,” according to the affidavit.

In addition to the two decade sentence, Anderson must also register as a Tier III sex offender for the rest of his life.

“I want to personally thank Clark County Assistant Prosecutor Aaron Heskett and Clark County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Sheila Crews and Deb Strileckyj for all their hard work on this case,” said Clark County Prosecutor Dan Driscoll. “I also want thank our victims’ families. Your patience and faith in the system allowed us to make sure this individual will spend a long time behind bars.”
